1. Who we are
The website rentapa.co.uk and the Rentapa service are operated by Rentapa (“we”, “us”). Contact: contact@rentapa.co.uk.
2. What Rentapa is
Rentapa is an introduction service that puts people and businesses who need to hire plant and equipment in touch with independent hire companies. Rentapa does not own the machines, is not the hire company and is not a party to the hire contract.
3. Free and without obligation
Sending a request through Rentapa is free for the customer. Rentapa is paid by hire companies, which pay for access to requests, and charges the customer nothing. Sending a request is not a booking or a contract and does not oblige you to hire. You are only bound if you accept a hire company’s terms and enter into a contract with it.
4. How it works
- The customer sends a request with the machines, sizes, attachments, dates and site location.
- Rentapa contacts the customer to confirm the details of the request and the intention to hire.
- Rentapa offers the request, without the customer’s contact details, to hire companies in its network that work in the area of the site and with the equipment requested.
- Each request is assigned to one hire company only, which receives the customer’s contact details, contacts the customer directly and sets out its terms.
- If the customer accepts, the hire contract is made directly between the customer and the hire company, which sets the price, deposit, insurance or damage waiver, delivery, conditions of use and invoicing.
5. Your obligations
- Give true, complete and up-to-date information, including the site location and access conditions.
- Make sure that whoever operates the equipment is trained and competent and holds any qualification required, or ask for the machine with an operator.
- Use the site lawfully and do not send false requests or requests on behalf of others without their permission.
6. Liability
Rentapa offers requests to hire companies it considers suitable, but does not guarantee that any company will take the request, contact the customer or have the equipment available.
Hire companies are solely responsible for the equipment, its condition, delivery, collection, breakdown support and the performance of the hire contract. Rentapa is not liable for losses arising from that contract, except where they result from Rentapa’s own negligence or breach of these terms in providing the introduction service.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
7. Partner hire companies
The relationship between Rentapa and partner hire companies is governed by a separate partnership agreement, which sets out the terms for buying requests with credits. Registering interest on the site does not create a partnership.
8. Intellectual property
The Rentapa name, logo, text, illustrations and other content on the site belong to Rentapa or their respective owners and may not be reproduced without permission.
9. Personal data
How we use personal data is described in the Privacy policy.
10. Complaints
If you have a complaint about our service, email contact@rentapa.co.uk and we will reply within 14 days. Complaints about a hire, the equipment or the price should be made to the hire company, which is responsible for the hire contract.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts, and the mandatory consumer protections of the law where you live continue to apply.
12. Changes
We may change these terms. The version in force is the one published on this page, with the date of the last update.
